Miami-Dade County is home to a half billion square-feet of vacant or underutilized public land. We can turn the tide on our affordability crisis by converting it into much-needed housing for Miami-Dade residents.

Public Land for Public Good Miami is a coalition of 30+ grassroots organizations working together to ensure this publicly-owned land is developed equitably, sustainably and in the best interest of Miami-Dade County residents.

Elysa Batista-Delcorto, Engagement Director for The Allapattah Collaborative CDC, outlines the PLPG coalition's ask on behalf of the local residents and business owners based on our insights report published in 2021. 1. City to require accessible public green space. 2. New affordable housing to average 80% AMI (average median income) of Allapattah. 3. Community Center that meets community needs. 4. Community engagement on the RFP (request for proposal) regarding the GSA site redevelopment, including a local resident a part of the evaluation process. 5. Continued community engagement through a second phase of townhalls.
